Our Veterinarians
Kristin Wolfe, Practice Owner (BAgSc, BVSc (Hons.)
Senior Small Animal Veterinarian
Kristin has worked at the Main Ridge Veterinary Clinic since 2005. Kristin is originally from Vancouver, Canada and has been in Australia since studying a Bachelor of Veterinary Science and graduating with honours in 2005.
Kristin became a practice owner in 2010, and now works exclusively with small animals and “pocket pets”.
Kristin has a special interest in complex soft tissue surgery, reproduction, oncology and dentistry.
Kristin’s faithful companion, “Phoebe” – a crazy pointer, is never far from her side and is regularly seen at the clinic, along with Fletch the Labrador. Kristin also has 3 horses: “Sir Tinkerbelle”, “Archie” and “Lucy”.
When not at work, Kristin enjoys spending time with her two children, Felix and Frankie, eventing on her horses, skiing and travelling.
Ben McCubbin, Veterinarian (BVSc (Hons.), MANZCVS (Equine Surgery)
Senior Associate (Equine/Large Animal Veterinarian)
Ben has lived on the Mornington Peninsula for 8 years and joined Main Ridge Veterinary Clinic in 2014. He studied a Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree at the University of Melbourne, graduating with honours in 2007.
Before working at Main Ridge Veterinary Clinic, he had worked in a variety of specialist equine and large animal practices; in particular, he has worked extensively with sports/performance horses and Thoroughbreds.
He has completed postgraduate studies in equine medicine and equine surgery, and was accepted into the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Surgeons Equine Surgery chapter in 2016 after successfully undertaking and completing the membership examinations.
His specialist area of interest is equine lameness, including work-up, diagnosis, and treatment.
When not at work, Ben enjoys spending time with his partner Dee and 2 young children. He has also spent far too much time (and money) working and teaching snowboarding in Canada, and now tends to use (waste?) his spare time running, cleaning up after toddlers and working in his veggie patch.
At home, he has his two dogs, D’Art and Sparrow, 3 chickens, 1 sugar glider and a multitude of reptiles.
Jade Morris, Veterinarian (BVSc.)
Senior Associate (Mixed Veterinarian)
Jade began working at the practice in 2002, where she was employed as a veterinary nurse whilst studying a Bachelor of Veterinary Science at Melbourne University. Graduating in 2008, Jade worked in mixed practice in northern Victoria before starting work at Main Ridge Veterinary Clinic as a Veterinarian in 2010.
Jade’s particular interests include small animal endocrinology and preventative equine medicine.
Jade is constantly accompanied by her Kelpie Seiko and her blue heeler Zuri.
In her spare time, Jade can be found tending to her plethora of animals at home on her farm, or working/competing on her horse, “Cash”.
Jessica Beattie, (BVSc.)
Veterinarian
Jessica graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. She subsequently moved to California to complete an equine surgical internship at Steinbeck Peninsula Equine Clinic, where she gained experience in all areas of equine practice, including surgery, anaesthesia, medicine, sports medicine and reproduction. She also worked in a small animal practice while overseas. On completion of her internship, she moved back to the Mornington Peninsula and commenced working at a racetrack and performance horse practice before beginning work at Main Ridge. She joins us as a mixed practice veterinarian, treating all animals, large and small. She has a particular interest in equine medicine. Jess has two dogs, Harley and Penelope, two horses, Hugh and Ceasa and one cat, Toots! Outside of work, she spends her time horse riding or hiking the local trails with her dogs.
Ange McCubbin, (BVSc BSc)
Senior Veterinarian
Ange, also known as Dee, graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Science (Zoology) in 2003 and went on to complete a Bachelor of Veterinary Science, graduating in 2007. Since graduation, she has practised as a small animal veterinarian, working in a variety of practices around Victoria and as a locum in the UK.
Ange and husband Ben settled on the Mornington Peninsula in about 2012 and have since had 3 children together.
Ange has worked at Main Ridge in a casual or part-time capacity since 2019. Most of Ange’s time is spent consulting in small animal medicine, preventative treatments, management of chronic health issues, emergency assessment and triage.
At home, you will find Ange’s two old dogs, Dart and Sparrow, and 4 old chooks.
Annabelle (Belle) Mann
Associate (Mixed Veterinarian)
Belle completed her veterinary studies at Melbourne University in 2017 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. She immediately undertook an intensive internship at South Eastern Equine Hospital before beginning work at Main Ridge in 2018.
She is passionate about all areas of veterinary medicine, both large and small animals, but is especially interested in equine preventative health and emergency care. In the future, she hopes to undertake further study and gain higher qualifications in equine medicine.
At home, Belle has a horse, Felix, and two kelpies: Axel and Rowdy.
When not working, Belle enjoys riding her horses, kite surfing, four-wheel driving and camping.
Our Staff
Jasper
Practice Manager
Jasper joined the team at Main Ridge in 2018. Jasper came from a background in marketing and management after having completed a Bachelor of Business.
She works mostly back of house, doing surgery or hospital nursing.
At home, Jasper has a veritable menagerie of animals: a horse (Chino), 2 dogs (Archie & Monty), 2 tonkinese cats (George & Yogi), and a rabbit (Fred).
When not at work, Jasper enjoys the theatre, riding her horse, and outdoor adventuring.
Emily
Veterinary Nurse
Emily joined our team in December 2020. Her passion is horses, although loves all animals big and small.
Emily lives on the Mornington Peninsula along with her 3 horses, Dolly, Cooper and Duff, as well as her Border Collie, Lilly.
In her spare time, she enjoys riding her horses and taking Lilly to the beach.
Maile
Veterinary Nurse
Maile joined the Main Ridge Veterinary Clinic in May 2021, after studying Vet Nursing for 2 ½ years, and is now a qualified Veterinary Nurse.
Working with animals has been a dream of hers since she was a little girl. Maile has many different pets, including her Staffy, Akela, a horse, a snake, birds, fish, and a gorgeous little lamb called Moose.
Maile loves chocolate, enjoys exploring the outdoors, and adventuring with her family.
Did we mention she loves chocolate?
Amy
Veterinary Nurse
Amy joined Main Ridge in October 2023, coming from a background in general and specialist nursing.
Her special interest lies in anaesthesia and surgery. Amy is currently studying to develop her skills in these areas.
Throughout the years, Amy has fostered many neonatal and young puppies and kittens through local rescue organisations. She also has a love for our native animals and helps to look after any orphaned native animals that come in.
At home, Amy currently has two terrier dogs, three failed rescue cats, two guinea pigs, and a sugar glider.
Prue
Veterinary Nurse
Prue joined the team in late 2022. She is currently completing a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Technology at Charles Sturt University and will go on to become a veterinary surgeon in the coming years.
Prue has a background in horses, dogs, cats, sheep, and cattle. She has worked as an international eventing and showjumping groom, as well as teaching and being involved with pony clubs across Victoria.
Prue has one dog, Zola, a 2-year-old Hungarian Vizsla, and two horses, Louie, an 11-year-old Irish sport horse, and Joey, a 7-year-old mixed breed pony.
Danielle
Veterinary Nurse
Danielle joined the team as a veterinary nurse at Main Ridge in 2019, after completing her studies at university.
Dani has grown up on the Mornington Peninsula and has always had a love for animals. In her spare time, Danielle volunteers at the RSPCA and enjoys local bushwalks.
